Welcome to the St. John Health-Osteopathic Division’s Osteopathic Graduate Medical Education (OGME) home page. St. John Health–Osteopathic Division is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) as the sponsor for all osteopathic graduate medical education programs within St. John Health hospitals. In addition programs in dentistry, oral maxillofacial surgery and podiatry programs are administered by the Osteopathic Division. St. John Health System is unique as the first system accredited in this fashion by the AOA.

St. John Health System has OGME programs at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Providence Hospital and St. John Hospital and Medical Center. Our primary purpose in all graduate medical education at St. John Health System is to provide high quality learner centered competency based education in a hospital atmosphere conducive to learning. As part of Ascension Health our focus is to teach future physicians, dentists and podiatrists to be compassionate care-givers recognizing the importance of the mind, body, spirit in recovery with an emphasis on quality measurements to insure proper patient care.

All St. John Health System teaching hospitals are JACHO accredited and the St. John Macomb–Oakland Hospital is also accredited by the AOA’s HFAP hospital accreditation program .The internship/residency/fellowship programs are fully accredited by the AOA, dental programs by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and podiatry by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME).
