If you're one of the many people in our community who are uninsured or underinsured, you'll be happy to know we're here for you. St. John Health Community Health Centers provide a wide range of primary care services, regardless of your ability to pay.
Cost
St John Health either directly provides primary care or partners with others in the community to provide health care to all those in need. This care is provided regardless of ability to pay. Some sites charge a set fee or use a sliding scale to determine fees.Yet, no one is turned away if they are in need.
Care Provided
All sites use a different model for providing care. Services may vary dependent upon the site. These sites do not provide emergency care although patients may walk-in to certain sites and if time permits they may be seen.
Primary care services usually include the regular services you would receive from a family doctor. They might include preventive care, health education, treatment of long term (chronic) diseases like high blood pressure or diabetes. They also include care for acute (sudden) problems like cold, flu, gastritis, and bronchitis. Most of the listed heath centers also provide the following:
- Physicals (work & school)
- Blood tests
- Preventive care and health education
- Management of acute diseases (like flu or strep throat) and chronic diseases (like diabetes, high blood pressure and asthma)
- Minor dental services
- Social services
- Enrollment into medical plans
- Immunizations
- Pelvic exams and pap tests
- Pregnancy testing
Emergency services are not provided.
