Coronary Artery Calcium Scoring uses noninvasive, highspeed computerized tomography (CT) to scan the heart and detect calcium deposits along the walls of arteries. Your doctor uses that score to measure your potential for heart disease. Available at:

Lipid Clinic
Clinical trials have shown that reducing the blood concentration of LDL-cholesterol (bad cholesterol) in persons with heart disease, diabetes or high blood pressure will reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and the need for bypass surgery or angioplasty by 30 percent or more.
