The Lawrence N. Carrier Jr. Tree of Life provides a special way for donors to pay permanent tribute to loved ones and friends through contributions to St. John River District Hospital.
Gifts to the Tree of Life may be given for a variety of reasons. Many find a gift to the Tree of Life fund to be a meaningful way to memorialize a loved one, while others use gifts to the Tree of Life fund to honor birthdays, anniversaries or special milestones in the lives of family members or friends.
Gifts to the Tree of Life directly benefit the patients of St. John River District Hospital. Contributions help St. John River District Hospital continue to provide quality, personalized healthcare services to residents of the community through the purchase of equipment expansion of services and the sponsorship of community programs. Donors are also welcome to identify the department they wish to receive the funds donated.
The Tree of Life is named in memory of Lawrence N. Carrier Jr. of Marine City, who died in June 1994. Larry, as his family and many friends new him, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, community-minded business owner and loyal friend of St. John River District Hospital. Larry’s family sponsored the Tree of Life at St. John River District Hospital in his memory as a special tribute to a generous caring man who touched many lives.
About the Sculpture
The Lawrence N. Carrier Jr. Tree of Life is a beautiful growing sculpture on display in the hospital lobby. The tree includes a beautifully sculpted bronze trunk, and offers a number of opportunities for participation by members of the community. The tree features 700 leaves, a number of acorns, and 12 stones at the base of the tree. Leaves, acorns and stones can be engraved with special inscriptions to recognize gifts to the Tree of Life fund.
