Providence Center for Healing Arts

The Art and Science of Healing

In August 1999, Providence Hospital in cooperation with the University of Michigan, built a truly unique facility in Novi Michigan that is a model for the future of medicine. The Assarian Cancer Center sets the standard for integrative medicine in the country.

The collaboration between these two hospitals allows patients to access University of Michigan doctors at their community hospitals. The Assarian Cancer Center offers so much more than advanced medicine, as it is home to the Providence Center for the Healing Arts. Deeply rooted in the architecture of this building is a philosophy of wholeness and healing that extends beyond the most advanced medical treatments, into new and old areas of healing.

The Providence Center for the Healing Arts, based on this philosophy of wholeness, offers patients and family members a full spectrum of programs and resources for healing in body, mind and spirit. The Assarian Cancer Center offers a full range of complementary therapies to patients, alongside traditional medicine.

Although family and friends are often very supportive through a cancer journey, patients also find it greatly helpful to have support from individuals who truly know the cancer experience. Our support groups are a place to share the emotional journey of cancer, discuss concerns, share information, and provide peer support. If you are in need of emotional support along your cancer journey, and are interested in the camaraderie and peer support of a support group, please contact oncology social work at 248-465-5466.
