Description:
The Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation rotation at Providence Hospital will be under the direction of Dr. M. David Jackson and staffed by other members of the Section of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Providence Hospital. They are also members of the residency training program in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan. The proposed rotation will last for one month.
The rotation in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Providence Hospital is in the office both inpatient ward, consultation rotation, and outpatient PM&R opportunity.
Inpatient Ward Responsibilities:
During the ward rotation, the student will be responsible for the care of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation patients under the direct supervision of the physiatrist in the section of PM&R, who is also part of the training program at Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan. The student will perform histories and physical examination. The student will be required to attend conferences.

Outpatient Consultation Portion of the Rotation: The student will make an independent assessment of the outpatient, which will be fully reviewed with the resident or attending whom he/she follows during the rotation.
Daily Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., on 7 West, DePaul Center, or in Dr. Jackson’s office.
