Assarian Cancer Institute, Novi

As part of the Providence Cancer Institute, the Michael and Rose Assarian Cancer Center in Novi provides the same high-quality care found at the Southfield Cancer Center, but in a unique environment.  The Assarian Center goes beyond traditional cancer care in that it combines the best technology has to offer with programs that address the needs of the mind and spirit as well as the body.

The Assarian Center promotes healing on all levels: physical, emotional and spiritual.  Clinical expertise and the newest technologies address the patient’s physical needs, while special architectural features, such as the Reflection Space and Soulscape, offer a calming refuge that promotes peace and serenity.  In the Karen M. Sinelli Arts Studio and ceramics workshop, patients use various creative media to work through the emotions surrounding their illness.  The resulting artwork is displayed in the Nancy A. Fox Art Gallery.

The Center for the Healing Arts recognizes that individuals approach a cancer diagnosis in different ways.  Some deal with it intellectually, using data, reason and rational thought; others listen more to their emotions and intuition in making decisions.  The Center for Healing Arts offers resources for both types of people:

The Providence Cancer Institute consists of two free-standing Cancer Center facilities. One of which is located on the Providence Park Campus in Novi called The Assarian Cancer Center. The other is the Southfield Cancer Center in Southfield.

The Providence Cancer Progam offer a multidisciplinary approach to care including: medical oncology, radiation oncology, gynecologic oncology, clinical trials, social services, breast care services, cancer screening, cancer education, community outreach, dietary services, and pastoral care as well as a full array of healing arts services, including yoga, art therapy, music therapy, and massage therapy.
