Description:
The physical medicine & rehabilitation rotation at Providence Hospital will be under the direction of Dr. M. David Jackson and staffed by other members of the Section of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Providence Hospital, who are also members of the residency training program in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at The Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan.
This rotation includes experience on the inpatient ward, on the consultation service and in the outpatient PM&R setting.
Inpatient Responsibilities:
During the inpatient portion of the rotation, the student may be responsible for the care of physical medicine & rehabilitation patients under the direct supervision of the physiatrist. The student will perform histories and physical examinations. The student will be required to attend conferences. In addition, the student will see consultations for PM&R under the supervision of the physiatrist.

Outpatient Responsibilities
The student will make an independent assessment of the outpatient, which will be fully reviewed with the resident or attending whom he/she follows during the rotation.
Daily Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., on 7 West, DePaul Center, or in Dr. Jackson’s office.
