Occupational Therapy
Individuals may discover areas of diminished independence and/or performance in their daily activities following an injury. These areas can be related to work, home, or community. A registered Occupational Therapist will assist you with your specific areas of concern.
Occupational Therapy will design specific programs to assist you in the recovery of skills and compensate for losses. Treatment may include the following:
- self-care activities
- family and home management activities
- perceptual re-training activities
- cognitive re-training activities
- community related activities
- in-home evaluations/visits
- energy conservation/work simplification techniques
- therapeutic exercises
- fine motor coordination activities
- safety assessments
- leisure programs
- pre-driving skills screening
Occupational Therapy can address specific return to work goals by any of the following means:
- pre-vocational assessment
- volunteer placements
- work site evaluations
Occupational Therapy utilizes a team approach with other involved disciplines to ensure your goals are met on an individual basis.
