Where are we?
We congratulate those individuals and churches who have completed The Walk to Jerusalem ! Hopefully this is the beginning of a healthy journey of increased physical activity and increased well being for all those who participated. What kind of faith those early immigrants must have had to cross the unknown and travel to an unknown land! May we have faith to face today and tomorrow with courage and determination!
Meditations: How is your journey going? Is it difficult to carve out 30 minutes a day to take a brisk walk? The more we rush through life, the less memories we will have to bring a smile to our face or a spring to our step. Let's determine to slow down and take time for sunrises and sunsets, a child's laughter, and a bird's song.
What about our physical body? Has your energy level increased since you've been exercising more? Have you been tracking the number of fruits and vegetables you have been eating each day in your Passport to Good Health? Just as God has created each one of us in a unique way, He has also created a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. Why not try a new fruit this week?
According to the American Heart Association, "clinical trials show that weight loss lowers blood pressure even before desired body weight is reached. Greater weight loss leads to greater blood pressure reduction. A high level of physical activity is a critical factor in sustaining weight loss." (www.americanheart.org/presenter )
So walk on! Let's continue our walking, praying and global awareness! May this be the beginning of a lifestyle change for all!
