Our women’s health services span a spectrum of services that encompass pregnancy and childbirth, gynecological care, diagnostic tests, preventive medicine and medical/surgical treatment.
The Family Birthplace, our Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP) unit, features a progressive, family-centered approach to the birthing experience. All phases of childbirth are completed in one home-like room, which has such amenities as a recliner, rocker, kitchenette and whirlpool bath.
Patients receive comprehensive education and support throughout their pregnancy and following the baby’s birth through our Perinatal Primary Nursing Program, which pairs a nursing team with the patient. Our New Family Health Education program provides childbirth education and information. A lactation consultant is available for support 24 hours a day.
All infants born at St. John Macomb Hospital undergo infant hearing screening prior to discharge, with equipment purchased by the hospital Auxiliary.

Mammography is available at our St. John Macomb Breast Center located at 28363 Hoover Road, Warren. The center has two advanced mammography units that use a very low level of radiation to image breast tissue. Also offered are ultrasound-guided biopsy, Stereotactic biopsy and bone densitometry services. The center is accredited by the American College of Radiology.
St. John Macomb Hospital offers many other comprehensive services, including Medical-Surgical Care, Radiology and Intensive Care.
