St. John River District Hospital’s Emergency Department is open around the clock to care for all of your minor and major illnesses and injuries. The Emergency Department is staffed by highly skilled physicians and nurses, and is outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment to give you and your family members the best care possible. All of the physicians staffing the Emergency Department are either board-certified or board-eligible emergency medicine specialists. More than 13,000 visits are made to the Emergency Department every year.
Additionally, the hospital is part owner of Tri-Hospital EMS, the area’s emergency medicine transport service. The hospital is also a base station for the EMS service and has an ambulance here at all times. For the occasions when a patient must be transferred to another hospital, a helipad is available on-site to accommodate emergency flight transfers.
