What is a Grief Support Group?
A grief support group is a group of individuals of all ages who have experienced the loss of a loved one. The group size may range from 4 to 12 people. The group provides a relaxed, friendly environment where you may share your reactions and listen to others.
Why Should I Attend a Group?
Attending a group is an opportunity to connect with others who have had a loss and are experiencing a similar grief. It is an opportunity to express yourself, if you choose, in a safe and friendly environment. It is an opportunity to experience hope that you will feel better again. Most people report feeling better even after attending their first group session. The support group is one of the most effective and beneficial ways of helping you cope with your loss.
