What do they do?

Biomedical Equipment Technicians are responsible for adapting, operating and maintaining high-technological medical devices and instrument systems used in patient monitoring, clinical laboratories, radiology departments, surgery, anesthesia, respiratory therapy and other high-tech hospital departments.

X-ray or laboratory departments, hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, medical device industry, government, military or any facility using medical equipment.

Educational Requirements
|
|
An associate's degree in biomedical technology is usually required, as well as 1-3 years of training. You must also pass at least 1 of the 3 certification exams from The International Certification Commission for Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Technology.
